ConnellGriffin has been engaged to deliver commercial management services across the major brownfield elements of the project: the Central Station Main (CSM) Works, Sydenham Station and Junction (SSJ) Works, and South West Metro (SWM) works - corridor and stations.
The CSM Works Package includes a new underground metro station at Central Station (Metro Station), which will interface with the train running tunnels and rail infrastructure, tunnel infrastructure, communications systems and control systems (delivered by interface
contractors). There is work to be done to the existing Central Station, Intercity Concourse and Grand Concourse, as well as a new “North South Concourse” and a new “Central Walk” connecting the suburban platforms to a new station entrance on Chalmers St.
The SSJ Works Package includes concourse, platforms, services building and fitout, civil works, trackwork, overhead traction power, signalling and train control systems for the remodelling of Sydenham Junction. The works also include adjustments and relocations of the
existing combined services route and enabling works to support the Tunnel and Station Excavation (TSE) Works Package and SWM Works Package.
The SWM Works Package covers work on each station from Marrickville to Bankstown, rail corridor works and other enabling works in the brownfield environment to support the follow on works packages.
