ConnellGrifin has hosted its first International Women’s Day event in its Kent Street office in Sydney last night.
Barbara Filipowski, one of our Directors, kick-started our event by paying our respects to the past, present and emerging elders of the Gadigal people of the Eora nation. This was followed by the ConnellGriffin Board and Executive formally launching our new Diversity & Inclusion policy, which supports, among others Diversity & Inclusion initiatives, Aboriginal Participation.
ConnellGriffin was then delighted to have #Jen Dalitz, CEO Women in Banking and Finance, sharing personal stories and facilitating discussions within our team about gender diversity and equality. We highlighted the importance of diversity for job seekers and how we could make progress to attract an even more diverse pool of applications. We also dived into the complexity of parental leave and how different expectations are put on working parents, and how to achieve equality in that domain we would need to support men taking parental leave.
Finally we made personal pledges to achieve equality, mounting them on our new pledge wall. #ConnellGriffin are supporting Jen’s fundraising for the food crisis relief and would recommend our readers to have a look at her fundraising page using the link below.

Thank you Jen for the thought provoking discussions. We can’t wait to progress further on the gender diversity and equality topic!
