New Project Milestone: HumeLink project appoints two world-class delivery partners

ConnellGriffin congratulates Transgrid for achieving the significant project milestone of appointing two world-class delivery partners (Acciona and GenusPlus JV, and UGL and CPB Contractors JV) to design and construct the $2.9Bn HumeLink project.

HumeLink is a project of national significance, and a priority project for the AEMO, and Commonwealth and NSW Governments. The project will deliver 385km of new 500kV HV transmission lines including new and upgraded infrastructure at four substation locations. HumeLink provides the critical infrastructure required to secure Australia’s transition to a clean energy future.

As the Transaction Manager for HumeLink, ConnellGriffin is proud to have supported Transgrid throughout the entire end-to-end procurement process and in reaching this important milestone.

HumeLink was successfully procured through a highly collaborative and accelerated procurement process that featured an intensive two-stage ECI process. This enabled Transgrid to work collaboratively and effectively with industry to:

• Achieve accelerated procurement, contract award and project completion milestones
• Secure tier-1 contractors within the current heated contracting market
• Leverage contractor delivery expertise to optimise the design and construction solution and develop innovative solutions to address complex project challenges – including critical resourcing and supply chain constraints
• Develop collaborative contracts that will ensure all parties are aligned and incentivised to deliver best-for-project and value for money outcomes.
