Port of Melbourne is Australia’s largest container and general cargo port.
ConnellGriffin was appointed to assist Port of Melbourne (PoM) with a review and the development of strategic options for upgrading their security infrastructure.

CLIENT'S OBJECTIVES:

Due to the changing landscape of security, legal requirements and technology, particularly in a Port environment, PoM required assistance in not only developing strategic options, but also an implementation plan for upgrading new security infrastructure.

It was important to the client that the strategic options that our Advisors put forward were aligned with the broader direction of the business, while also contributing to other commercial incentives.

OUR ROLE:

Our Advisors assisted Port of Melbourne by:

  • identifying potential security infrastructure upgrades and additions
  • shortlisting best solutions from a strategic and commercial perspective
  • optimising capital expenditures for security infrastructure
  • aligning strategic and business outcomes with capital expenditure, and
  • determining the best procurement approach for the recommended implementation plan.

KEY OUTCOMES:

Our Advisors delivered a rigorous and robust security infrastructure review, while also providing PoM with considered recommendations for the strategic options and the implementation program available to it. This work gave PoM the support it required for its investment decision-making processes.
