Brisbane Metro is a 21km service, connecting 18 stations along dedicated busways between Eight Mile Plains and Roma Street, and the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and the University of Queensland.

OUR ROLE:

ConnellGriffin provided advisory services to Brisbane City Council from 2018 - 2019 for the Brisbane Metro Project. This project includes complex tunneling/cut works in the CBD and South Bank, with the design and construction of a new vehicle and depot for this fleet.

ConnellGriffin undertook the following tasks:

  • Business Case initiation to Transaction for $1b Public Transport Program
    comprising 18 packages of work between $2m to $700m (including
    development of Procurement Strategy and Program).
  • Developed Project governance, internal and external reporting, cost
    management application(s), risk management framework, assurance
    strategy and delivery schedules.
  • Provided governance support, contract administration, risk, design and
    constructability advice, cost evaluation and management and reporting of
    above developed elements.


  • Provided support to the Transaction Management Process, including
    management of all Requests for Clarification, and Notices to Tenderers
  • Developed Tender documentation plans and project plans for the transaction
    phase of the project, including quality management plan, risk management
    plans, document management plans
  • Consulted with internal and external stakeholders for the input to the Project
    Board each month
  • Project management of early works; major PUP Relocations and the Rochedale
    Depot investigations (including strategy, coordination of approvals, and
    programming, scoping and risk management).
